Overview :

- The Guidewire Policy Center Developer plays a crucial role in the organization by developing, customizing, and maintaining Guidewire Policy Center applications.

- They are responsible for analyzing business requirements and translating them into software solutions that meet the needs of the organization.

- This role is essential for ensuring the effective operation of Guidewire Policy Center and supporting the organization's insurance policy administration processes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and customize Guidewire Policy Center applications based on business requirements.

- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.

- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to understand and refine software requirements.

- Integrate Guidewire Policy Center with external systems and third-party applications.

- Design and implement efficient and scalable software solutions using Java and Guidewire Gosu.

- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

- Create and maintain technical documentation related to Guidewire Policy Center applications.

- Identify and troubleshoot software defects and performance issues.

- Support system testing and resolve any issues that arise during testing phase.

- Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.

- Stay updated with the latest Guidewire Policy Center features and functionalities.

- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of software solutions.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for software development processes and tools.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience in developing and customizing Guidewire Policy Center applications.

- Proficiency in Java programming language and object-oriented design principles.

- Strong understanding of insurance policy administration processes and workflows.

- Experience with integration of Guidewire Policy Center with external systems using Web services and APIs.

- Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- In-depth knowledge of Guidewire Policy Center architecture and data model.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

- Good understanding of software development best practices and quality assurance processes.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Familiarity with Guidewire Claim Center and Billing Center is a plus.

- Certification in Guidewire Policy Center development is highly desirable.

- Ability to adapt to changing technology landscapes and learn new tools and technologies.
