Shift time: Monday to Friday (6.30 pm to 3.30 am)


Essential Job Functions:


  • Underwrite residential mortgage loans in accordance with Conventional/ FHA and VA guidelines.
  • Reviews/analyzes loan files submitted for borrowers to ensure file meets loan program requirements. Includes individual analysis of: loan application, credit profile/report(s), debt and assets, income/financial statements, loan values/loan-to-value ratios, appraisal reports, collateral and supporting documentation.
  • Input of data and analysis of findings in Loan Prospector, Desktop Underwriter, Asset wise, other AUS engines, and OES
  • Analyze income from salaried, commissioned, self-employed, investments, fixed income sources.
  • Analyze assets statements for all types of asset accounts
  • Identifies/calculates loan risk of loss.
  • Should have good knowledge and understanding about the 4C's of Underwriting.
  • Conditions files for missing/supporting documentation.
  • Revisits loans to review and clear conditions.
  • Escalates fraud files to Credit Manager/Risk Management team.
  • Communicate status and decisions (approval, suspense, denial) to the appropriate individuals in accordance with company SLA’s
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency – i.e. – Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Mail, Internet and Automated Underwriting Systems
  • Review and verify income, employment and credit history of applicant, requesting additional information as needed.
  • Examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness, while working with Mortgage Consultant and/or production staff to secure all required documents
  • Scrutinize accounts from which applicant’s funds originate.
  • Review property appraisal to see if property valued correctly to warrant the loan amount requested.
  • Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision and actively engage with supervisor to resolve complicated issues
  • Strong time management skills to plan and organize a high daily loan volume


Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of income calculations, tax returns, reading credit reports, identifying red flags
  • Experience in reviewing appraisal and title, and ability to recognize red flags and ineligible properties
  • Good planning skills
  • Good balance between people, process & clients
  • Good client management & relationship building skills
  • Ability to work in Night shift
  • Open to Work from Office
  • Should have minimum 2 to 3 years of Experience working as Residential Mortage Underwriter.
