Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our MySQL and PostgreSQL, Ms-SQL databases for our software platform. The ideal candidate will ensure database reliability, performance, scalability, and security. You will play a key role in fine-tuning queries, creating and managing indexes, optimizing database performance, and implementing robust security measures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Database Management & Maintenance:
  • Monitor, maintain, and manage MySQL and PostgreSQL MS-SQL databases.
  • Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery setups are in place.
  1. Performance Optimization:
  • Analyze and optimize database queries for better performance.
  • Add and manage indexes to improve query execution time.
  • Perform database tuning and capacity planning.
  1. Security Implementation:
  • Implement and manage database security policies, including user access control.
  • Ensure data integrity and implement encryption where necessary.
  • Protect databases from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  1. Development Support:
  • Collaborate with developers to design database schemas and architecture.
  • Assist in creating stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
  • Support and optimize database changes for new features and modules.
  1. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  • Set up and manage database monitoring tools to identify performance issues.
  • Debug and resolve database errors, deadlocks, and locks.
  • Monitor server health, logs, and system metrics to ensure smooth operation.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in MySQL and PostgreSQL , MS-SQL database administration.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and query optimization techniques.
  • Experience with database replication, clustering, and sharding.
  1. Security and Compliance:
  • Understanding of database security best practices.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, or other relevant compliance standards (preferred).
  1. Problem Solving and Analysis:
  • Ability to analyze and resolve database issues efficiently.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
  1. Tools and Utilities:
  • Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools (e.g., pgAdmin, phpMyAdmin).
  • Experience with backup and restore tools for MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  1. Experience:
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based environments and shell scripting.
  1. Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to document processes and maintain database-related documentation.
