About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling large volumes of genomics data, managing multiple stakeholders, and maintaining robust data processing pipelines. This role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage, share, upload, and process diverse data types efficiently.


Job Requirements and Required Skills:

  • Data Management:
  • Handle and process large volumes of genomics data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage data storage, retrieval, and organization for optimal performance and accessibility.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders including researchers, scientists, and IT professionals to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and data-related issues.
  • Data Handling:
  • Efficiently manage different types of data and multi-point data integrations.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across various systems and platforms.
  • Pipeline & Storage Management:
  • Design, implement, and maintain data processing pipelines to handle genomics data from ingestion to analysis.
  • Oversee storage solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Communication:
  • Articulate complex data-related concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on data findings and pipeline performance.
  • Data Sharing & Processing:
  • Oversee the sharing, uploading, and processing of large data sets, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Develop and maintain protocols for efficient data handling and transfer.
  • FTP Setup: Set up and manage FTP servers for data transfer and sharing, ensuring secure and efficient operations.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field from a reputed college. Advanced degree preferred.


  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on genomics data preferred.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in data handling tools and technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, SQL).
  • Experience with genomics data formats (e.g. bcl, fastq, VCF, BAM, ORA).
  • Strong knowledge of data pipeline tools (e.g. GATK, Dragen, vcftools, bamtools, etc).
  • Adept at storage solutions (e.g. FTP setup and management, AWS s3, ORA compression, etc).
  • Soft Skills::
  • Exceptional communication and articulation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
