We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of ML Engineering to lead our team and drive innovation in our core machine learning projects. As the Director of ML engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize ML projects, set the technical direction, and ensure the successful delivery of ML solutions. Additionally, you will stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ML technologies and methodologies, and provide thought leadership to guide the company's ML strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned ML engineer to step into a leadership role and make a significant impact in a fast-growing organization.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage a team of machine learning engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship

Define the ML strategy and roadmap, aligning it with business objectives

Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning models, algorithms and enhance product features.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements/dependencies for all the projects.

Define, collect, and preprocess data required for training and testing ML models

Design and implement experiments to evaluate the performance of ML models

Evaluate and select appropriate ML frameworks and tools for different projects

Stay up to date with the latest advancements in ML technologies and methodologies

Provide thought leadership and guidance on ML best practices and emerging trends

REQUIREMENTS:

B. Tech/M. Tech/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other Quantitative Fields.

Proven experience in leading and managing AI/ML and Computer Vision (CV) teams.

Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms and frameworks.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python/C/C++.

Experience with cloud-based ML platforms, such as Amazon Sage Maker or Google Cloud ML.

Working experience with ML deployments/optimization on both embedded and cloud platforms.

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Ability to multitask and manage multiple ML projects simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities

DESIRED SKILLS:

Fundamental understanding of classical ML, deep learning and/or computer vision algorithms.

Exposure to accelerating algorithms for GPUs, such as with CUDA, is a plus.

Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Plotly-Dash is a plus.

Publications in CVPR, NIPS, ICLR, ICCV and IEEE journals is a plus.

Holding patents in any of the relevant domains is highly valued.
