Role As the subject matter expert in civil and structural engineering, you'll play a vital role

within the Engineering Services team located in India. Your focus will involve working

closely with the project development, Land & engineering team in the Asia-Pacific

regions to assess and grasp the specific civil needs of each project. Your key duty will be

to offer optimal engineering solutions that bring forth the highest value throughout the

developmental and construction stages of our renewable energy projects across the

portfolio.

Responsibility

o Site Assessment and Analysis:

Conduct comprehensive site assessments to evaluate solar potential, taking

into account factors such as site topography, flood analysis, shading analysis,

and structural considerations. Assess site suitability, including roof or ground conditions, orientation, and any potential environmental impacts.

Identify and mitigate any constraints or challenges that may affect system performance or installation.

o Structural Design and Integration:

Design secure and structurally sound mounting systems for solar panels,

considering factors such as wind loads, seismic activity, and roof or ground

stability.

Integrate solar energy systems into existing or new civil engineering projects,

ensuring compatibility and adherence to structural and safety standards.


o Permitting and Compliance:

Navigate local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes to ensure

compliance and support to obtain necessary approvals for solar energy system

installation. Work closely with regulatory authorities to understand and adhere to safety

standards and environmental requirements.

o Cost Estimation and Economic Analysis:

Conduct cost estimation and economic analysis of solar energy civil and

structural systems.

o Project Management:

Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors,

and suppliers, to ensure the successful implementation of solar, wind, and

energy storage projects.

o Be the primary point of contact for all civil and structural engineering related

matters

o Prepare, review specifications, scope of works, RPF, Drawings, and QA/QC aspects

for civil /structural engineering.

o Assist with the development and improvement of systems and processes, to

maximize efficiency in civil engineering design and costing.

JOB DESCRIPTION

o Identify civil-related project risks, organize them within the project risk matrix, and

identifying possible risk mitigations.

o Work with other functional teams to provide value engineering to the project,

considering alternative engineering methods related to civil and structural

engineering that may reduce LCOE of the project life cycle.

o Perform other responsibilities as necessary to support the successful completion of

projects.

Functional skills & Job knowledge/experience


o Computer literate with good knowledge of MS-office & expertise in AutoCAD,

Google earth, PVcase, and ArcGIS are a plus.

o Hands on experience in civil and structural engineering software’s such as STAAD

Pro, Civil 3D, ANSYS, LPILE, HEC-RAS and/or HEC-HMS (or similar).

o Good knowledge of local and international codes and standards related to civil &

structural engineering such as ASCE 7-10, AASHTO, ISO, SBC, American and Euro

standards.

o Experience in hydrology and drainage analysis, including erosion control.

o Experience performing grading and cut-and-fill analysis.

o Experience in Topo survey, Geotechnical and Wind studies.

o Strong background in applicable structural engineering principles (tracker, fixed

mounting structure post foundations, equipment pad foundations, WTG

foundation, etc.).

o Design of Fence, Roads, Drainage, Substation and Transmission line foundation, etc.

o Good Knowledge on preparation of quantity estimation and BOM.
