About the Role :
Were looking for a seasoned Data Analyst with 4- 8 years of experience to drive data-driven decision making across the organization. Youll turn complex data into actionable insights, work cross-functionally with product/marketing/operations, and help shape strategic initiatives using a combination of statistical analysis, data visualization, and business acumen.
Key Responsibilities :
- Data Collection & Cleaning : Aggregate, clean, validate, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from multiple internal and external sources to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Analysis & Insights : Perform exploratory and deep-dive analysis to uncover trends, patterns, correlations, and anomalies that inform business strategy.
- Dashboarding & Reporting : Build and maintain scalable dashboards and automated reports (e.g., in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar) for stakeholders across functions.
- KPI Definition & Tracking : Define, monitor, and refine key performance indicators; set up alerting for business-critical metrics.
- Statistical Modeling : Apply appropriate statistical techniques (regression, cohort analysis, A/B testing, time series forecasting, segmentation) to answer business questions and evaluate impact of initiatives.
- Data Storytelling : Translate analytical findings into clear, concise narratives and presentations for senior leadership, enabling data-informed decisions.
- Cross-functional Partnership : Collaborate with product, marketing, sales, operations, and engineering teams to frame problems, advise on measurement strategies, and support data needs for projects.
- SQL & Query Optimization : Write efficient SQL queries to extract and manipulate data; optimize existing queries and data pipelines for performance and scalability.
- Data Governance : Ensure adherence to data governance practicesdocument assumptions, maintain lineage, and uphold data security and privacy standards.
- Ad-hoc Analysis : Respond to urgent business questions with rapid, reliable analyses.
Required Qualifications & Skills :
- Experience : 4- 8 years in a data analyst/data insights role, preferably in a product, SaaS, e-commerce, fintech, or consulting environment.
- Tools & Languages : Strong proficiency in SQL; experience with Excel at an advanced level; familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and modeling.
- Visualization : Hands-on experience creating dashboards/reports in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent.
- Statistical Knowledge : Comfortable with hypothesis testing, A/B testing, regression analysis, and basic predictive modeling.
- Business Sense : Ability to understand and frame business problems, prioritize analyses based on impact, and suggest actionable recommendations.
- Communication : Excellent written and verbal communicationable to present complex data simply to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration : Proven ability to work cross-functionally, influence without authority, and manage multiple stakeholders.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have :
- Experience with modern data stack components (e.g., dbt, Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift, Airflow, Monte Carlo).
- Familiarity with product analytics platforms (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap).
- Exposure to ML feature engineering or working with data science teams.
- Knowledge of version-controlled analytics (e.g., analytics code in Git).
- Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL pipeline design.
Metrics of Success (First 6 Months) :
- Delivery of at least 2 high-impact dashboards adopted by business teams.
- Reduction in time-to-insight for recurring business questions.
- Establishment and documentation of core KPIs with reliable tracking.
- Successful execution and interpretation of at least one A/B test or cohort study that informed a strategic decision.
