Job Title : Associate Director - Data WarehousingLocation : MumbaiExperience Required : 7+ YearsImmediate Joiner preferredJob Description :We are seeking an experienced Associate Director in Data Warehousing to lead the design and implementation of cloud-based data warehousing solutions. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with expertise in building scalable, efficient, and secure data warehousing solutions on platforms like AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, or Snowflake. You will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring high-quality data delivery, and optimizing warehouse performance while collaborating with stakeholders to meet business requirements.Key Responsibilities :Architect and Design Cloud-Based Data Warehousing Solutions :- Lead the design and architecture of scalable and high-performance data warehousing solutions on cloud platforms (AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)- Ensure the architecture aligns with business needs while maintaining optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.Stakeholder Collaboration :- Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.- Ensure that technical solutions meet business expectations and are aligned with strategic goals.Team Management & Leadership :- Manage a team of engineers and provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance.- Oversee day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring high productivity and efficient use of resources.- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.Data Modeling & ETL Processes :- Implement best practices for data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data governance to ensure data accuracy and integrity.- Lead the design and optimization of ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into the warehouse.Data Quality and Integrity :- Ensure that the data warehouse is accurate, consistent, and compliant with data governance policies.- Oversee data validation, cleansing, and error-handling processes to maintain high data quality.Performance Monitoring & Optimization :- Monitor the performance of the data warehouse and identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies.- Implement strategies for performance optimization, including query tuning and resource management.Security and Compliance :- Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data, including access controls and encryption.- Ensure compliance with internal and external data governance and security standards.Innovation & Continuous Improvement :- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in cloud data warehousing and proactively recommend improvements.- Lead efforts to innovate and introduce new tools, technologies, or practices to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the data warehouse.Key Requirements :Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).Experience :- Minimum 7 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based data warehousing solutions.- Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, or Snowflake is required.- Proven track record of leading teams and driving technical projects from inception to completion.Skills :Technical Expertise :- Strong understanding of data modeling principles and experience with data modeling tools.- Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL tools and processes.Team Leadership :- Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring teams, including hiring and performance management.Problem Solving & Analytical Skills :- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical abilities for resolving complex technical issues.Communication :- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Certifications :- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Cloud Architect are a plus.Key Competencies :- Leadership & People Management : Ability to lead and inspire teams, drive innovation, and ensure continuous development of talent.- Collaboration & Communication : Exceptional collaboration skills to work with stakeholders at all levels and effectively communicate complex technical concepts.- Technical Expertise : Deep technical expertise in cloud-based data warehousing platforms, data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance.- Strategic Thinking : Ability to align technical solutions with business goals and innovate to drive the organizations success (ref:hirist.tech)
