We have an opportunity for GST & Taxation professional for our Head office located in Chennai.

Looking for 6-7 years of experience in indirect taxation including GST Compliance, Filings , Audits and Advisory. Should have in depth knowledge of GST laws and sales tax, excise , service tax and customs Compliance & Filings:

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6, GSTR-7, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, etc.) across the Group.

- Conduct periodic audits for all group companies to ensure compliance with GST.

- Ensure Reconciliations of GSTR-2B with purchase registers and follow up with the internal teams for discrepancies.

- Liasoning with Government authorities.

- Maintain legal case tracker for the entire Group.

- Input Service Distributor (ISD) provisions.

- GST annual returns and audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Apply new GST Registrations/ Surrender Existing registration wherever applicable.

- Ensure timely tax & Compliance for Group Companies:

- Conduct periodic audits for all group companies to ensure compliance with GST.

- Identify gaps in compliance, suggest corrective actions, and ensure implementation.

- Develop internal audit checklists to streamline tax compliance across Advisory & Litigation Support:

- Provide expert advice on GST implications for various business transactions.

- Handle GST assessments, departmental audits, and notices received from authorities.

- Represent the company in tax litigation matters and coordinate with legal consultants.

- Stay updated with GST law amendments, case laws, and industry trends to implement necessary changes in compliance.

- Obtaining Legal confirmation at the year-end from Legal with Government Authorities:

- Maintain regular communication with GST and tax authorities for compliance-related matters.

- Handle queries, notices, and assessments from tax authorities and ensure timely resolution.

- Build and maintain relationships with key regulatory bodies for smooth compliance Tax & Other Indirect Taxes:

- Handle Sales tax (VAT and CST) assessments.

- Handle the legacy issues in Excise, Service tax and Process Optimization:

- Improve tax compliance processes through automation and technology.

- Coordinate with IT teams for automation of tax-related reports and & Cross-Functional Support:

- Liaise with internal teams for tax compliance and planning.

- Support statutory and internal audits wherever & Skills:

- CA/ ICWA preferred; candidates with strong relevant experience to apply.

- 6-7 years of core experience in GST, Sales Tax, and indirect taxation.

- Strong understanding of GST laws, circulars, and Notifications.

- Hands-on experience in GST return filing, reconciliations, and tax audits and assessments.

- Experience in handling tax assessments and departmental queries.

- Proficiency in Excel, tax automation tools, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and management : CA/ICWA.
