Mode of hiring:Contract to hire Experience: 5+ Years Budget: 17-19 LPA Notice Period: 0-10 Days No PF Overlap Share your CV :sathish.m@tekgence.comAbout the Role We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA with strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades, Always On Availability Groups, and cloud migrations (AWS preferred). The ideal candidate will play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022. Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments. Plan and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans). Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency. Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures. Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments. Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments. Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions. Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions). Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization. Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security. Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
