Testing Lead Profile :

A testing lead is responsible for overseeing the testing process within a project or multiple projects spread across different Line of Business (LOB's) in the organization. Their duties typically include creating test plans, coordinating testing activities, managing testing resources, analyzing test results and ensuring the quality of the final product.

This role often collaborates closely with developers, business analysts, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that testing objectives are met and that any issues are addressed promptly. Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

Roles and Responsibilities :


1. Creating test plans and strategies : Develop comprehensive test plans outlining the testing scope, objectives, resources and schedules.

2. Leading testing efforts : Coordinate and oversee the execution of test cases, ensuring thorough coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.

3. Managing testing resources : Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, tools and environments, to support testing activities.

4. Analyzing requirements and risks : Review project requirements and identify potential risks to create test scenarios and prioritize testing efforts.

5. Reporting and tracking defects : Document and track defects throughout the testing process, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

6. Providing status updates : Communicate testing progress, issues and risks to project stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and business analysts.

7. Signoff on key deliverables / projects : Getting Sign-off from all stakeholders for critical projects to ensure alignment, accountability and project completion. Maintain a record of signoff for all critical project milestones and deliverables to ensure accountability and mitigate risks.

8. Mentoring team members : Provide guidance and support to testers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring consistency in testing practices.

9. Continuously improving processes : Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.

10. Ensuring quality standards : Uphold quality standards and compliance requirements throughout the testing lifecycle, striving for excellence in product quality.

11. Collaborating with cross-functional teams : Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to align testing activities with project goals and objectives.

Required Experience & Skills :

- 10-15 years of experience in Software Testing (Manual + Automation)

- 2+ years of experience in leading testing team

Experience in :

- Functional, Regression, Sanity and Installation Testing

- API testing (using SOAP UI / Postman)

- Performance & load testing (using SOAP UI / JMeter)

- Design, development and execution of Test Cases, Test Scenarios & Test Plans

- Designing and execution of automation scripts using Selenium Tool (WebDriver/IDE)

- Defect reporting, tracking and monitoring key metrics

- Good knowledge in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)

- Should be proficient in agile application development methodology and having a strong understanding of Jira tool

- Provide regular status update to all stakeholders

- Intermediate level understanding of database.
