Backend Developer

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to design and scale the core systems that power our platform. The role involves building APIs, managing data flows, ensuring reliability, and optimizing backend performance. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, experience with scalable architectures, and thrives in a collaborative environment where ownership and execution speed matter.

Role Overview :

As a Backend Developer at Crest, you will architect and implement the backbone of our product. You will design secure and scalable services, work with databases and messaging systems, and ensure seamless integration with frontend applications. The role demands a strong systems thinker with expertise in modern backend technologies, capable of building reliable, high-performing infrastructure that supports rapid product growth.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

- Work with relational and NoSQL databases to model and manage data efficiently.

- Ensure system reliability, observability, and security best practices.

- Collaborate with frontend developers and product managers to deliver features quickly.

- Write clean, testable, well-documented code.

- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.

Preferred Candidate Profile :

- 2-5 years of backend development experience with exposure to building scalable products and distributed systems.

- Strong command of Node.js, Golang, or Java, with hands-on experience in designing APIs, microservices, and working with databases (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB).

- Familiarity with event-driven systems, caching (Redis), and messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

- Skilled in building reliable, secure, and high-performance backend systems capable of handling growth.

- Proven ability to work closely with frontend teams, product managers, and DevOps to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.

- Self-starter who can balance speed with long-term system stability, thrives in fast-paced environments, and takes accountability for outcomes.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and prior work in fintech startups is a plus.
