We at Coforge are Mainframe Modernization Architect with the following skillset:


We are seeking an experienced mainframe lead for our Legacy Modernization (Mainframe) practice, responsible for building mainframe modernization capabilities and solutions. The ideal candidate will have 18+ years of experience in mainframe technologies, with a strong background in technical leadership, technology management and people management.


Technical Skills:


  • Expertise in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS, VSAM, and JCL.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and modern programming languages (e.g. Java)
  • Nice to have: exposure of Gen AI technologies such as OpenAI, Gemini AI, Watson Z and Amazon Bedrock would be a plus
  • Strong understanding of organizational process optimization techniques


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for providing leadership and direction in the planning and execution of the Mainframe to cloud migration (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Lead the Legacy Modernization (mainframe) team in developing and delivering innovative solutions
  • Work closely with partners to create differentiating value propositions
  • Develop and execute the technology strategy for Legacy Modernization practice
  • Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions
  • Stay UpToDate with industry trends and emerging technologies


Requirements:


  • 18+ years of experience in Mainframe and related technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., IBM, AWS, Azure) are a plus.
  • Candidate should have experience in working or leading Mainframe modernization capabilities in his prior experience.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and people management
  • Strong understanding of business operations and industry trends
