About the Role :We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Administrator to manage and support our database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both on-premises and cloud-based database systems, with hands-on experience in database administration, cloud migration, system monitoring, backup management, and data recovery. This role is critical to ensuring our database environments are secure, reliable, and optimized for performance.Key Responsibilities :- Administer, maintain, and optimize relational databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.- Plan and execute cloud migration initiatives, including moving on-premises databases to Azure or AWS platforms.- Monitor database and system performance using appropriate monitoring tools and implement improvements where needed.- Manage backup and recovery operations, ensuring business continuity through reliable data protection strategies.- Perform database patching and updates, coordinating with development and infrastructure teams to minimize downtime.- Implement and maintain high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and replication.- Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools such as PowerShell and T-SQL.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver tailored solutions.- Stay current with the latest advancements in database technologies and industry best practices.Required Skills & Qualifications :- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator or equivalent certification preferred.- 2+ years of experience managing relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or similar).- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and database migration strategies.- Hands-on experience in backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.- Proficiency in database performance tuning and system monitoring tools.- Experience in automating tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or similar scripting languages.- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
