Job Description

This role will be based in Chennai and will require travel extensively to project sites in East and South India.

Key Responsibilities: Operational Excellence:
  • Fully understands and complies with Keller risk management policies and procedures.
  • Recognizes major risks and takes appropriate measures to reduce risks to the company.
  • Understands in detail the contractual obligations and terms of delivery and payout.
  • Responsible for Quality of execution – Risk Management.

  • Adherence to Project Lifecycle Management.
Initial Planning:
  • Responsible for designs, submittals, material ordering, pre-job planning and scheduling.
  • Plans pre-project meetings with the Superintendent and other entities as required.
  • Develops plans and strategies with the project team to maximize profitability of projects.
Project Execution:
  • Manage multiple projects at different stages of execution across South and East of India.
  • Builds and leads effective project-based teams.
  • Ensures the work performed meets the specified requirements.
  • Works with the branch and project team to ensure the project stays on schedule and in budget.
  • Identifies and addresses challenges and opportunities to maximize profitability.
Change Management / Sustainability:
  • Identifies, tracks and addresses changes; escalates changes when necessary.
  • Ensures sustainability of environment during project execution and updating project on new environmental laws and ensuring compliance as required.
Commercial Acumen:
  • Approves and monitors weekly and monthly financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and other metrics throughout the duration of the projects under the zone.
  • Tracks gross margins and project profitability of all responsible projects.
  • Manages collections and on-time invoicing of clients.
  • Responsible for execution and realization of payment terms as per the terms of the contract.
  • Negotiate effectively with all vendors, suppliers involved during the delivery of project which includes subcontractors, hiring of machines and procurement of materials.
  • Takes all steps to achieve the Gross Margin as earmarked in the costing sign-off document. Makes the effort to achieve beyond the agreed gross margin level.
  • Project Cash Flow: Always ensures 100% certification of Invoice as per the agreed project schedules and makes attempts to realize payments within the defined timelines. Always keeps the project in a positive cash flow.
People Leadership:
  • Manages large teams and delegates effectively.
  • Adherence to Keller values and Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrates an ability to lead large teams.
  • Able to inspire people at all levels.
  • Able to carry people together, create cohesive teams, and proactive communication.
  • Ability to support the community in which they operate and serve.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Negotiates effectively with the stakeholders on various project related issues and milestones. Manages all escalations and remains self-accountable unless the issues are resolved.
  • Leverages customer relationship to ensure payments are made within the stipulated timelines. Manages multiple priorities effectively both with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies new opportunities and coordinates with the management team for support and overall strategy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering / Masters in Geotechnical Engg/ MBA Construction Mgmt.
  • Minimum 15 years geotechnical, Drilled Shaft deep foundation or industry related experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills necessary.
