Training Superintendent

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Role as a Course in-chargeAs course in-charge take responsibility for up-dating and revising of course Master files, participants handout, prepare use and update PPTs, relevant videos, exercises, tests, incorporating new regulations, best industry practices and new training material received. Reference books are inventoried and maintained and proper updating procedure is followed and all documents are controlled with revision numbers
  • Taking participants feedback, summarizing the course outcome and putting in place requisite changes in consultation with Programme Head / Dy / Asst Programme Head.

Note down verbal feedback from participants, superintendents, Vessel Managers, General Managers, Fleet Directors and discuss same with AEMTC management for further corrective / preventive

To implement quality standards in the training courses and maintain highest level of safety practices during the training and compile course data as per QMS under the guidance of Sr. Superintendent / Asst. Programme head.

To identify and record all deficiencies related to training activities and to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities related to training activities in consultation with Programme Head.

Ensure and Adhere to the course plan, timetable and impart highest quality to training as per the Detailed Teaching Syllabus and Lesson Plan. Take participant’s feedback at end of each course and include these suggestions to improve upon the contents and delivery of the courses to the course-in-charge /programme head to apply corrective action.

Updates and improvements made to the courses periodically, also plan and develop, new training courses as may be needed, proper updating procedure is followed and all documents are controlled with revision numbers.


Ensure that training course simulators and equipment, measuring instruments and gas monitors used in the training courses are to be kept maintained and calibrated at regular intervals.

Check and monitor inventory and up keep records of all equipment related to training.


To ensure Course Specific induction program is being carried out for new course faculty for Engineering / Deck courses / ECDIS help desk / External Examiner for DGS, MMD, IMU / Cadet Training at AEMTC.


External: Training Institutes, Directorate General of Shipping, Mercantile Marine Department.

Internal: AE Trg centre, AEMTC, FPD dept, QHSE dept, Operations dept, Auditors, Vessel Managers


Education:

Master Mariner Class I – COC Or Marine Engineer Officer Class I from a reputed Flag State or Other Specialized Qualification.

Other Specialized Training courses and certification.

Experience:

Master or Chief Engineer of min 1 yr sailing experience

1 yr teaching experience


Specific Business Knowledge:

Maritime Education and Training

QHSE

Behaviour based safety and Incident Investigation

Other Marine Specialization



Sailed as Chief Engineer on Chemical/ LNG /Gas tanker .
