The position requires understanding both GIS/RS and driving the innovation to leverage local knowledge with global data sets. The role involves daily responsibilities such as conducting geographic data analysis, supporting systems and data integration, and troubleshooting GIS-related issues. The position requires working closely with a technical team and collaboratively with team members with diverse skill sets.Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 1–3 years of progressive and relevant experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS), specifically in applications related to forestry, agriculture, or land-use change analysis within developing countries. Additional academic or professional background in Computer Science, Engineering, Forestry, Geography, Agriculture, Geology or other relevant fields is highly desirable.What We’re Looking For: ·Passion/persistence to work as a team-player and contribute to a company dedicated to Nature-based Solutions (NbS) program approaches. ·Perform Land Use / Land Cover (LULC) classification mapping using satellite imagery. ·Contribute to developing GIS based tree biomass calculations associated with AFOLU projects ·Conducting spatial analyses and producing maps to meet reporting requirements with a particular focus on AFOLU (ARR/AGR/WRC) projects and programs ·Apply image classification and segmentation techniques for agricultural insights. ·Lead vector data development, digitization, and spatial analysis. ·Image-to-Image Georeferencing: Experienced in aligning scanned cadastral maps with satellite imagery or base maps using control points and transformation techniques. ·Cadastral Map Rectification: Adept at correcting distortions in mouza maps and integrating them into GIS platforms for accurate spatial analysis. ·Revenue Parcel Mapping: Hands-on experience in digitizing and georeferencing revenue parcel boundaries for land administration and property taxation systems. ·Experience with AutoCAD, image to image/cadastral map georeferencing/rectification in mouza maps and revenue parcel maps. ·Conduct crop yield estimation using remote sensing datasets. ·Potential assessment/estimation of carbon sequestration/soil organic carbon and stock. ·Support research initiatives in remote sensing for agriculture/forestry. ·Produce high-quality cartographic outputs for internal and client-facing projects. ·Running and improving the existing Java Script/Python code to manipulate large raster datasets ·In-depth understanding of ESRI ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, Server, Enterprise/Portal, and Image Server. ·Knowledge of open-source geospatial solutions like QGIS and Google Earth Engine. ·Knowledge of acquisition, management, interpretation, and exploitation of remote sensing data including spaceborne, airborne, and UAV data and imagery, mosaics, and LiDAR
