Sales Representative – FMCGLocation: Mumbai ( Church Gate - Virar)Work Mode: On-site (Full-time)Reports To: Sales Manager / Area Sales ManagerDepartment: Sales & DistributionSalary Range: 20k-22k Monthly Job SummaryThe Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth of our FMCG products within an assigned territory. This includes building and maintaining strong retailer/distributor relationships, achieving sales targets, ensuring product availability and visibility, and providing market intelligence to inform business decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote and sell the company’s range of FMCG products to existing and prospective clients (retailers, wholesalers, distributors).Achieve agreed-upon sales targets (monthly/quarterly/annual) and outcomes in the assigned territory.Develop and maintain strong business relationships with customers, distributors and retail outlets to secure repeat business.Conduct regular field visits to outlets, monitor stock levels, merchandising standards, shelf space and product visibility in stores.Identify and attract new customers/markets, open new distribution channels and expand market share.Monitor market trends, competitor activity and consumer behavior, and provide insights/reports to management.Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to ensure products are supplied, launched and promoted effectively.Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, forecasts, call activity logs and territory reviews.Handle customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.Carry out duties as assigned by management, including participation in trade promotions, product launches, and exhibitions.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.Previous experience in FMCG sales (preferably 1-3 years or more) is desirable.Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.Understanding of sales principles, territory management and customer services.Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, comfortable with field visits and travel.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM tools is a plus.Valid driving license and own vehicle (or ability to travel) may be required, depending on the territory.Required Skills & AttributesTarget orientation and results-driven mindsetStrong planning, organization and time-management skillsExcellent presentation and persuasion skillsAbility to build and maintain lasting client relationshipsAnalytical mindset to interpret sales data and market informationAdaptability, initiative and self-motivationReporting & Performance MetricsAchievement of sales volume, revenue and margin targets within territoryGrowth in distribution points, new accounts opened, and market shareCompliance with call cycles, update of CRM/territory data and timely reportingMerchandising standards, product availability and shelf visibilityCustomer satisfaction, retention and complaint resolutionWork Environment & TravelField-based role with considerable travel across the assigned territory.
