We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Content Marketing and Media Head to lead our content strategy, specifically focusing on YouTube marketing, and organic content creation for the Unacademy Language Learning App in the US.


Position Overview:

As the Content Marketing and Media Head, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand image, driving engagement, and expanding our customer base through compelling content initiatives. You will collaborate cross-functionally (including with the team in the US) ensure the seamless execution of our content marketing efforts. As we build the brand, the primary focus will be to drive video views for the content and organically build brand salience in the target markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy that aligns with the Unacademy brand and vision, define marketing objectives, and target audience, with a primary focus on YouTube marketing.
  • Create engaging and informative content for YouTube and other social media channels (long form and short form), to enhance brand awareness and increase organic reach.
  • Oversee content production and distribution processes, ensuring high-quality standards and timely delivery while optimising for YouTube Channel SEO and organic search rankings.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and analytics to measure the effectiveness of content campaigns, identify areas for improvement, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content marketing in the target geography, particularly in the YouTube and digital media space, and implement innovative ideas to enhance our content strategy.
  • Build and nurture relationships with influencers, content partners and media outlets to expand our reach and establish partnerships that support our content initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, work with the legal and finance teams to maintain vendor relationships and contract clearance related to content creation and distribution, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about YouTube platform policies, algorithm changes, and trends, ensuring compliance and leveraging new features and opportunities to maximise our channel's growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience of at least 6-8 years in content marketing, with a focus on YouTube marketing, social media marketing and organic content creation.
  • In-depth understanding of YouTube's platform, algorithm, analytics, and best practices for growing and engaging an audience on YT.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging content tailored to different channels and target audiences.
  • Proficiency in SEO, keyword research, and content optimisation techniques to drive organic traffic.
  • Experience with video production, editing tools, and content distribution platforms.
  • Analytical and creative with a strong leadership skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross- functional teams.
