Estimating Engineer (Estimator) - Oil & Gas

Location - Mumbai

Provide high-quality estimates for all activities being offered to customers in the Middle East and ensure full adherence with tendering procedures including the completion and filing of all required documentation.



The Estimating Engineer based in Mumbai, India is primarily responsible for developing quick, accurate and transparent cost estimates for industrial services projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs along with initial drafts of technical and commercial proposals for prospective clients in the Middle East.


The Estimating Engineer will work closely with the Head of Business Development and Commercial Manager in the Middle East to grow the business in this new market. The primary role of the Estimating Engineer will be to provide prompt and accurate cost estimates for new customer enquiries by collaborating with project managers, engineers and other group companies to develop project timelines and budgets and managing the bid preparation process, including coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders as necessary. The Estimating Engineer will ensure full compliance with the tendering and handover procedure and ensure that all estimates are reviewed and approved as per the respective delegations of authority (DOA) in a timely manner before tender submission. In addition, the Estimating Engineer will act as the main interface between the BD team and operations and support with the preparation of plans and schedules as well as maintain a database of third-party suppliers / subcontractors. The Estimating Engineer will use any learning from completed projects to continuously improve the competitiveness and quality of their deliverables.


The Estimating Engineer will assist in providing estimating and proposal support to the Middle East to further develop the business.


Qualifications / Experience Required;


Mandatory (Entry Level)

Degree in Mechanical Engineering


Preferred

Effective Communication, Interpersonal and Organisational Skills


EXPERIENCE (Work related)

The candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, e.g. Estimating / Proposals Engineer.
