An exciting new role has arisen within our growing legal team in India for an immediate start


The Legal Counsel at George Clinical is responsible for supporting the Group General Counsel in the provision of legal and strategic advice to the George Clinical group of companies, to ensure compliance with global laws, internal policies and corporate governance practices.


This is a contract role for 2 months with the potential to extend.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic legal advice to concerned stakeholders in the Company on a wide range of issues, including in relation to corporate law, intellectual property law, employment laws, work, health and safety laws, and privacy and information laws
  • Deliver quality, timely, and practical legal services to George Clinical, inclusive of establishment of subsidiary entities the interpretation of legislation and other authoritative documents, and the review of legal templates and governing documents
  • Advise and support to Group General Counsel and the Privacy Committee in respect of data protection within all jurisdictions in which the company operates and providing legal advice on privacy including cross border transfer
  • Support the negotiation, drafting and settlement of all major agreements (including contracts, etc.) to safeguard George Clinical group entities interests
  • Take project management responsibility for Legal Services projects


Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally from the CRO, Life Sciences or professional services industries. Inhouse experience is essential
  • Undergraduate degree in law and relevant post-graduate qualifications in a common law country
  • Current legal practicing certificate, with more than 5 years post qualification experience
  • Global experience in legal and contract management across Asia, Europe and USA
  • Requisite understanding of the laws and regulations governing health research, competition, employment, discrimination, equal employment opportunity, diversity, work, health and safety, and privacy
  • Demonstrated strong legal analysis skills; proven ability to decipher and apply legislation, regulations and government policy; excellent drafting skills and attention to detail; strong initiative and accountability
  • Native level proficiency in verbal and written English
