This individual will oversee the complete order execution process from development through shipment, ensuring seamless buyer communication, on-time delivery, high quality, and cost-effectiveness. The Merchandising Manager will guide and mentor a team of merchants, build strong relationships with buyers and buying houses, and ensure flawless coordination with production, sourcing, quality, and logistics teams.This is a critical leadership role requiring excellent product knowledge, strong attention to detail, superior time management, and proven people management skills.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the merchandising team, ensuring effective delegation, guidance, and performance monitoring. Oversee the end-to-end order execution process, from product development through production to final shipment. Act as the key point of contact for buyers and buying houses, managing approvals, communication, and production updates. Prepare and monitor detailed T&A calendars, ensuring strict adherence to timelines. Handle costing, price negotiations, and margin achievement with buyers and vendors. Collaborate closely with production, sourcing, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflows and timely deliveries. Troubleshoot and resolve production or quality issues to prevent shipment delays. Analyze buyer requirements and market trends, providing strategic input for new product development. Ensure compliance with buyer requirements on social, technical, and quality standards. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with global buyers, suppliers, and stakeholders. Train, mentor, and develop junior and mid-level merchandisers to enhance efficiency and accountability.Qualifications and ExperienceProven leadership and team management skills. Strong buyer handling and relationship management capabilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. In-depth product and process knowledge of garment manufacturing, fabrics, trims, and export documentation. Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple large-volume buyers and orders under pressure. Analytical mindset with sound decision-making ability. Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Technology, Textile, Merchandising, or Business Management. 8–12 years of experience in garment merchandising, including at least 4–5 years in a managerial or leadership role. Prior experience working with international buyers and buying houses is essential. Exposure to sustainable practices and compliance standards will be an added advantage.
