About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join our Mobile Apps Team and enhance the experience for over 11 million customers. In this role, you will collaborate with the Product Owner, Architect, and team members to design and deliver new features and improvements for one of the most successful pet e-commerce platforms in Europe.

You will participate in the complete software development lifecycle, leveraging modern technologies such as Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM. Working in an Agile environment, you will help maintain and modernize our Android applications to ensure a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate solutions, estimate efforts, and align goals.
  • Design, implement, and maintain new features for our Android applications.
  • Integrate backend solutions into mobile apps and work closely with other teams.
  • Promote and implement automated testing, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance tests.
  • Build, publish, and monitor new versions of the applications using Bitrise.
  • Conduct code reviews, participate in pair programming, and share knowledge within the team.
  • Reduce technical debt by maintaining and optimizing existing applications.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Android development experience.
  • Strong skills in Java and Kotlin with experience in debugging, profiling, publishing, and monitoring apps.
  • Proficiency in Jetpack Compose, MVVM, and testing frameworks such as Espresso.
  • Proven ability to independently investigate and implement new features.
  • A product-oriented mindset with a deep understanding of customer needs.
  • Experience with unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with an empathetic approach to teamwork.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with Scrum methodology.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with A/B testing and feature flags.
  • Familiarity with localization processes.
