The team brings in 7 years of experience in building electoral strategies that spark conversations, effect change, and help shape electoral and legislative ecosystems in our country.As a part of the Analytics & Engineering Team , you will have a great chance to build tools and pipelines from early days by reinventing the concept of using data for the greater good.Role Summary :Varahe Analytics is launching a multi-state program to build and maintain a national-scale voter database enriched with economic, demographic, administrative and geospatial layers. The Technical Lead will architect and drive the entire buildout from designing data schemas and ingestion pipelines to ensuring high performance, scalability, and governance.This is a hands-on leadership role that combines deep technical design with cross-functional collaboration across analytics, engineering, and data operations teams.The Technical Lead for the Database Platform will be the driving force behind the complete architectural design and implementation of our robust database infrastructure. This encompasses a broad range of critical responsibilities, starting from the meticulous design of data schemas to the creation of efficient and reliable data ingestion pipelines. A paramount focus will be placed on ensuring high performance, scalability to accommodate future growth, and stringent data governance to maintain data integrity and compliance.The Technical Lead will work closely with various teams, including analytics, engineering, and data operations, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of database solutions with broader organizational goals. This collaborative approach will be crucial for fostering a unified and efficient data ecosystem across the entire company.Key Responsibilities :1. Design the core architecture of the Database Platform, including storage layers, data models, ingestion pipelines, and APIs. 2. Define data standards, schemas, and metadata structures for population, electoral, and survey data. 3. Design for scalability, data lineage, and performance optimization. 4. Mentor engineers and data developers; enforce engineering best practices. 5. Lead the creation of ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and transform data from multiple internal and external sources. 6. Ensure robust data security, backups, and monitoring. 7. Define protocols for data quality, validation, lineage tracking, and auditing.Required Skills & Experience1. B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields. 2. Prior experience in building data platforms or data lakehouses from scratch. 3. Exposure to geo-spatial data, survey data, or political/public datasets (preferred but not mandatory). 4. Strong experience in database architecture and data modelling (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar). 5. Proven experience in ETL/ELT frameworks, ideally with dbt, Airbyte, or Apache Airflow. Proficient in Python/SQL for data transformation and automation. 6. Hands-on with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. 7. Familiarity with data warehouse/lake design, API integrations, and data governance tools (Great Expectations, Prefect, etc.).
