Hand on induction motor design
Ensure processing of work orders from individual customers to develop customized motor solutions ensuring efficient usage of manufacturing resources, quality products and timely completion of the order
- Process individual customer product requirements in a timely and efficient manner
- Develop the electrical design component of the order, based on the finalized customer product specifications, ensuring optimum performance, high reliability and low manufacturing costs
- Process Customer Spare Part Orders to assess viability of servicing the order
- Identify sources and develop the schedule for meeting the spare part requirement within the specified time period
- Work closely with the Sales and Marketing Function to incorporate design changes to make the offer more competitive
- Ensure adherence of the Design process with the pre-defined design standards at the company in order to improve quality and reduce design lead time
- Adopt updated design procedures to ensure improved quality of designs and reduced failure rates
- Participate in the Design Process standardization process to develop generic BOM's, updating existing MRP data, item description standardization etc.
- Ensure the storage of all designs developed in the SAP Drawing Management System as per defined guidelines
- Work closely with the Works Department to ensure the development of a feasible work plan and timely execution of the order
- Review and approve the Bills of Materials and amendments to the Bills of Materials
- Prepare purchase specifications for electrical and mechanical components – to facilitate sourcing of the components from Suppliers / Vendors
- Support the Sourcing function in supply contract negotiations providing input on quality and performance of procured products
- Analyze product drawings, specifications and performance reports provided by the suppliers to ensure that the sourced products meet the required performance and quality standards
- Support the Sales and Marketing function to service Spare part orders by providing assistance for making the sales pitch, addressing customer queries and verifying quality of the spare parts
- Undertake the storage of all technical documents - technical literature, internal communications, product design etc. ensuring data security
- Work closely with the Quality department for ensure that all test certifications required by the Customer are successfully obtained
- Provide input to the Technology department for the new product development process by providing input on customer defined product specifications
