Job Description – HOD Environment Department:Environment,Location:Cement Plant Position Level:Head of Department (HOD)Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Environment Department for overall environmental compliance and performance. Monitor and ensure adherence to all statutory environmental regulations, norms, and permits (air, water, waste, hazardous waste, etc.). Oversee efficient operation and maintenance of pollution control equipment (ESP, Bag Filters, GCT, STP/ETP, etc.). Conduct and coordinate environmental monitoring for stack emissions, ambient air quality, water quality, noise, and other parameters. Prepare mandatory environmental reports and ensure timely submission to regulatory authorities. Lead environmental audits, risk assessments, and participate in internal and external inspections. Develop and implement environmental management systems, waste reduction plans, and sustainability initiatives. Coordinate with Plant Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Quality departments to ensure environmentally compliant operations. Promote awareness on environmental protection, pollution prevention, and sustainability practices across the plant. Drive continuous improvement through adoption of best environmental practices and emerging technologies.Required Qualifications Education:Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. / M.Sc (Environment, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field). Experience:10 to 15 yearsof experience in environment & safety, preferably in a cement plant or heavy industry.
