Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design and production teams to select appropriate textiles for manufacturing processes, with a specific focus on the Indian traditional market and unique fabrics sourced globally.
  • Conduct extensive research on new and innovative textiles to stay updated on industry trends, particularly in the realm of women's and baby girls' textiles.
  • Analyze the quality of incoming textile materials and make recommendations for improvements, leveraging your expertise in traditional and specialty fabrics.
  • Create and maintain accurate records of textile specifications, including color, pattern, and composition, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
  • Test textile samples for performance and durability, ensuring they meet established standards, especially for fabrics targeting women and baby girls.
  • Provide guidance to the production team on the proper handling and care of textiles, offering insights into the unique requirements of traditional and specialty fabrics.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery of textiles, leveraging your knowledge and connections within the industry.
  • Travel occasionally to source new fabrics, engage with suppliers, and meet with clients. Travel will be short in duration, with a frequency of once every 2-3 weeks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in textiles, fashion design, business management, marketing, or sales, demonstrating a solid foundation in textile principles and business acumen.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the textiles industry, with a focus on traditional and specialty fabrics for women and baby girls.
  • In-depth knowledge of different textiles, including their properties and potential applications, particularly within the context of the Indian traditional market and global specialty fabrics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail, to address complex challenges in sourcing and managing traditional and specialty fabrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Hindi, enabling effective collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using textile testing equipment and software, coupled with the ability to navigate supplier relationships and negotiate pricing effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with the willingness to travel occasionally to source new fabrics and engage with suppliers and clients.
