You will lead a team of talented Data Engineers in building anevent streaming ecosystem (primarily Kafka)designed to handlebillions of events daily . This platform will be the core engine forreal-time decisioning, advanced experimentation (A/B testing), and operational analyticsacross our multi-cloud environment. The success of this role is dependent on delivering a system that is robust, performant, andresilient to failure under immense scale.What You'll DoAs theData Engineering Manager II , you will be responsible for the end-to-end vision and execution of the Real-Time Data & Experimentation Platform. Your core focus areas include:Technical Strategy & Architecture:Define the technical vision andmulti-cloud reference architecturefor the Events Streaming and Experimentation platforms. Lead the design forpetabyte-scale data flows , ensuring strictHA/DR, security, and data residency compliancewithin the fintech landscape. People Leadership & Mentorship:Manage, mentor, and coach a growing team of 5-10 high-performing Data Engineers.Drive high-bar hiring to recruit top-tier talent in distributed systems and stream processing. Operational Excellence & Scale:Own the platform roadmap from conception to launch. Establish robustobservability standards(SLOs/SLAs) and implement best practices forcost-effective operationof our complex multi-cloud infrastructure. Cross-Functional Impact:Partner closely with Product Management and Infrastructure/SRE teams to translate critical business needs into highly scalable engineering solutions.Who You AreWe're looking for a leader ready to take on a massive scale challenge and build a mission-critical platform from the ground up.Minimum Requirements8-15 yearsof total experience, including5+ years in Data Engineeringand a minimum of2+ years in direct managementof data or platform engineering teams. Strong, demonstrable Kafka expertise:operational management of large-scale, mission-critical Kafka clusters, configuration tuning, and cross-cluster replication. Proven track record in designing, building, and operatinghighly available and fault-tolerant distributed systemscapable of processing billions of events daily. Demonstrated ability to define clear, scalable architectures for real-time streaming pipelines.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience inFintechor a highly regulated industry. Experience with advanced streaming technologies likeSpark, Flink , or similar real-time processors. Familiarity withmulti-cloud deployment strategies(at least two of AWS, GCP, or Azure). Experience building or integrating withExperimentation (A/B Testing) platforms
