Lead Optomechanical Design Engineer with a focus on Simulation Analysis plays a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of opto-mechanical systems and components. The engineer uses simulation tools to model and analyze the performance of these systems, ensuring they meet specified requirements.


Design & Development:

  • Design opto-mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for various applications.
  • Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
  • Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes for opto-mechanical systems.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical, mechanical, and software design elements.

Simulation & Analysis:

  • Use simulation tools (such as ANSYS) to carry out the FEM analysis of opto-mechanical systems and analyse their performance under various operating conditions.
  • Conduct thermal, structural, electromagnetic, and fluid flow simulations to validate designs and optimize system behaviour.
  • Perform stress analysis and fatigue testing to ensure reliability and longevity of components and systems.
  • Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and other risk assessments to identify potential issues in design.

Testing & Optimization:

  • Develop test plans and procedures for prototype systems and components.
  • Work with prototype teams to build and test systems, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Analyse test data and iterate designs to improve efficiency, cost, and performance


Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech/MTech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
  • Proficient in Solidworks
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • 3+ years’ experience in Mechanical designing & simulation analysis
