Job Title : Data Governance Specialist

Experience Required : 36 Years

Location : Bangalore / Pune

Work Mode : Full Time

Compensation : 10-20 LPA

Notice Period : 30 Days

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled Data Governance Specialist to design, implement, and manage data governance frameworks, policies, and processes that ensure the quality, security, compliance, and proper usage of enterprise data assets. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data management principles, regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.), metadata management, and collaboration across business and technical teams to drive a culture of data stewardship.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Data Governance Framework :

- Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures.

- Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business units.

Data Quality & Compliance :

- Define and monitor data quality metrics, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security standards.

Metadata & Master Data Management :

- Oversee metadata management processes for better data discovery and usage.

- Support master data management (MDM) initiatives to create a single source of truth.

Collaboration & Training :

- Work with cross-functional teams (IT, analytics, business units) to align on governance objectives.

- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on data governance best practices.

Data Issue Resolution :

- Identify, investigate, and resolve data-related issues, ensuring timely remediation.

- Maintain a centralized log of governance-related incidents and corrective actions.

Tools & Technology :

- Utilize and administer data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation).

- Work with data engineering teams to integrate governance controls into data pipelines.

Required Skills & Background : Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Analytics, or related field.

Experience : 3-6 years in data governance, data management, or related roles.

- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM).

- Familiarity with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and compliance frameworks.

- Experience with data quality tools and governance platforms.

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.

- Ability to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly terms.
