Location: Bengaluru, India (On-site)Experience Level: 1–3 yearsDepartment: Chairman's OfficeAbout the RoleSun Mobility seeks a Battery Innovation Engineer to drive cutting-edge battery technology initiatives within our Chairman's Office. This role focuses on developing innovative solutions across battery lifecycle management including recycling, second-life applications, advanced battery management systems, and thermal management technologies that will shape the future of sustainable mobility.Key ResponsibilitiesBattery Technology Innovation- Execute innovative R&D projects focused on next-generation battery technologies and applications - Lead battery recycling research and development projects to optimize material recovery and circular economy initiatives - Design and implement second-life battery applications for stationary energy storage and grid integration - Conduct battery testing protocols and performance validation across various operating conditionsResearch & Development- Develop proof-of-concept prototypes for new battery technologies and system integrations - Research and analyse emerging battery chemistries and their potential applications in mobility solutions - Support intellectual property development through patent research and technical documentation - Optimize battery pack design for 2nd life vehicle and stationary applications - Conduct lifecycle assessments of battery systems from manufacturing to end-of-life management - Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholdersRequired QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field - 1–3 years experience in battery technology, energy storage systems, or automotive engineering - Experience with battery testing, BMS development, or thermal management systems preferred - EV/Energy storage industry exposure preferredTechnical Expertise- Battery technology fundamentals including lithium-ion, solid-state, and emerging chemistries - Thermal management systems including cooling strategies, heat exchangers, and HVAC design - Testing equipment operation (battery analyzers, thermal chambers, oscilloscopes) - Simulation software experience (MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar) - CAD software proficiency for mechanical design and system integration - Data analysis skills using Python, MATLAB, or similar toolsCore Competencies- Innovation mindset with passion for developing breakthrough battery technologies - Problem-solving abilities for complex technical challenges in battery systems - Project management skills to lead R&D initiatives from concept to implementation - Cross-functional collaboration with ability to work across engineering disciplines - Technical communication to present complex concepts to diverse audiences - Continuous learning attitude toward emerging battery technologies and industry trendsWhat We Offer- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge battery innovation projects - Access to state-of-the-art testing facilities and R&D infrastructure - Collaboration with leading battery technology researchers and industry experts - Platform to shape the future of sustainable energy storage solutions - Professional development in the rapidly evolving battery technology landscape
