Job Summary :


We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our companys database systems. The ideal candidate will ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security, while also supporting development teams, performing backup and recovery, and troubleshooting database issues.


Key Responsibilities :


- Install, configure, and upgrade database server software and related tools.


- Monitor database performance and tune systems for optimum performance.


- Implement and manage database security and access controls.


- Perform regular backups and ensure reliable recovery processes.


- Design and maintain database architecture, including tables, indexes, stored procedures, and views.


- Develop scripts to automate common database administration tasks.


- Troubleshoot database issues including performance bottlenecks, outages, and integrity problems.


- Support developers in optimizing queries and data models.


- Maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and standards.


- Perform capacity planning and provide input on infrastructure upgrades.


- Manage replication, clustering, and high-availability configurations as needed.


- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools.


Technical Skills Required :

- Strong knowledge of RDBMS concepts and architecture.


- Proficiency in at least one major DBMS like MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.


- Experience with database backup & recovery strategies.


- Hands-on experience with replication, clustering, and HA configurations.


- Strong SQL and performance tuning skills.


- Knowledge of indexes, query optimization, and execution plans.


- Scripting knowledge (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Perl) for automation.


- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or cloud-native tools.


- Experience with tools like phpMyAdmin, pgAdmin, Toad, or SQL Developer.


Desirable :


- Experience in cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).


- Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra.


- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating database changes into version :


- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


- 3+ years of hands-on experience in database administration.


- Certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified DBA, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, AWS Certified Database Specialty) are a plus.

- Strong communication and documentation abilities.


- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
