Job Title: Head – Personal Loan (Digital Business)

Location: Mumbai, Andheri east

Company Type: Fintech / NBFC

Reporting to: CBO

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to head our Personal Loan vertical. The ideal candidate will be responsible for P&L ownership, designing and executing business strategies, product development, risk management, partnerships, and digital growth in the personal loan segment. This role requires deep knowledge of unsecured lending, fintech innovations, customer acquisition, and credit policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Strategy & Growth

  • Own end-to-end P&L for the personal loan business.
  • Define business plans, growth roadmap, and product strategies.
  • Drive customer acquisition through digital, affiliates, paartnerships and co-lending partnerships.
  • Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within the portfolio.

2. Product & Process Management

  • Develop innovative personal loan products aligned with customer needs.
  • Optimize loan approval TAT, onboarding journey, and digital lending processes.
  • Work with technology teams to build seamless digital journeys (app/web).

3. Risk & Credit Management

  • Collaborate with credit/risk teams to define policies, scorecards, and underwriting models.
  • Monitor portfolio quality, delinquency, and NPA trends.
  • Implement robust fraud detection & collection strategies.

4. Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Lead and build a high-performing sales, product, and operations team.
  • Manage relationships with affiliates, fintech partners, credit bureaus, and lenders.
  • Work closely with regulators, auditors, and compliance teams.

5. Financial & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with RBI and NBFC regulations.
  • Drive profitability through sustainable interest income, fees, and cost efficiency.
  • Regularly track performance metrics – disbursements, yields, PAR/NPA levels.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: MBA/CA/Finance/Business Management from a reputed institute.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of experience in retail lending, with at least 5 years in personal loans.
  • Proven track record in scaling unsecured loan portfolios in NBFCs/Fintechs/Banks.
  • Strong knowledge of credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and digital lending.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Tech-savvy mindset with exposure to digital loan origination & alternative credit models.
