Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Company Secretary to lead our Compliance practice. The ideal candidate will bring deep regulatory expertise, strategic leadership, and the ability to grow the vertical by driving client value, business development, and operational excellence.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Compliance Advisory & Client Engagement

  • Provide senior-level guidance on Company Law, FEMA (FCGPR, FCTRS, ODI, APR, FLA), cross-border structuring, VC funding transactions, ESOPs, and strike-offs
  • Review and oversee deliverables related to securities issuance, due diligence, exits, and compliance under various corporate laws
  • Advise clients on evolving regulatory risks and policy changes with a strategic, solutions-oriented approach

Practice Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the compliance team to ensure quality, timeliness, and consistency across engagements
  • Build and implement scalable internal systems and processes for efficient service delivery
  • Collaborate with other practice leads (Legal, Finance, Tax) to provide integrated solutions to clients

Growth & Strategy

  • Drive business development by expanding Treelife's compliance offerings across new clients, sectors, and geographies
  • Represent the firm in client pitches, industry forums, and ecosystem events
  • Contribute to internal strategy including planning, margin optimization, and new initiatives for scaling the practice

What are the key requirements for the role?

  • Qualified Company Secretary with 10+ years of post-qualification experience from firms is preferred
  • Deep exposure to the startup, VC/PE, and cross-border business ecosystem
  • Proven ability to manage high-level client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Candidates with existing books can also apply
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and execution capability
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
