POSITION SUMMARY:Position- Practice Leader & Director - ESG & SustainabilityBusiness - ConsultingDivision - CRISIL IntelligenceROLE SUMMARY:- The role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in the ESG and Sustainability domain, strong consulting acumen, and business development capabilities to drive strategic engagements with leading corporates, banks and multilateral agencies among others. - In particular, focus areas include ESG roadmaps & implementation support, Climate risk analysis, Product life cycle assessments, ESG integration in supply chain, sustainable finance and sustainability reporting.- The Practice Leader & Director will be responsible for revenue growth, profitability, client relationship management, project delivery, team leadership and franchise building.- The role involves working with private entities, government agencies, financial institutions, and multilaterals.- This is a high-visibility leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment and is passionate about solving complex industry challenges while driving commercial success.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- The candidate should have a demonstrated track record of having led consulting assignments and developed business in the sustainability domain.Business Development & Client Engagement:- Develop and execute the growth strategy for the Sustainability vertical, aligned with market trends and client needs.- Lead business development (BD) initiatives with support from a BD Manager, focused on growing the ESG and sustainability advisory portfolio across sectors including energy, manufacturing, financial services, tech, and public institutions.- Manage the P&L, meeting revenue and profitability targets- Build and manage strong C-suite relationships with corporates, industry regulators, investors and other key stakeholders.- Identify and drive new business opportunities, expanding the firms presence in the ESG & Sustainability segment through existing network and new partnerships- Lead proposal development, pitch presentations, and contract negotiations to win high-impact consulting mandates.Project Delivery & Excellence:- Oversee project execution with strong support from an Associate Director, ensuring high-quality deliverables and measurable client impact- Provide strategic insights across sustainability focus areas to the team as well as Clients- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions that can aid strategic decision-making for clients.- Delivering high impact presentations to clients and internal stakeholdersTeam Leadership & Development:- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing consulting team- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the practice.- Drive capability development, ensuring consultants stay ahead of industry advancementsThought Leadership & Industry Strategy:- Deep domain knowledge of the sustainability value chain including emerging trends that will shape up the industry- Engage with regulators (SEBI, RBI) for creating value and alignment with strategic goals- Represent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and publications to enhance market presence.- Author and publish articles to showcase thought-leadership and build franchise for the 12-15+ years of relevant experience in consulting, corporate sustainability, ESG investing, or advisory services- Experience in India along with global markets (Europe and Middle East) will be an added B.E.
