About the role:

The Senior QA Engineer will be focused on testing large sustain engineering efforts that extend the life of our current platform. The candidate will be proficient with agile development processes and best practices in addition to being an expert in testing mobile applications and server architecture. They will also work with other departments in Technology to facilitate maintenance efforts.

 

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • A test automation expert with 3-6 years of experience
  • Experience in validating complex algorithms, APIs & UI
  • Ability to understand & test large-scale modular applications & distributed systems
  • Master in e2e web application testing including functional, integration, performance & security aspects
  • The innate quality of clearly understanding requirements and creating & executing diverse test cases
  • Hands-on and well-versed with Selenium or similar web automation tool
  • Comfortable writing scripts in various programming languages
  • Mentoring of team members & participating in code reviews
  • Hands-on programmer

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Complete ownership & accountability of quality & timely execution of projects through Scrum. To closely work with the lead engineer and/or product owners to clarify requirements, challenge assumptions & raise concerns in order to minimize disruptions for the team during execution. Work with the team to break the functional requirements (epics) down into technical user stories and estimate them with reasonable accuracy.
  • As a team, agree on the roadmap of major demonstrable features based on the estimates and with appropriate buffers for surprises. These timelines will be used by stakeholders to plan releases and communicate with customers.
  • Lead by example in validating high-quality solutions that can scale and be customized per varying but related requirements.
  • Work with the team to design, develop, document, review, test and demonstrate weekly sprint commitments to stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups for the team to discuss daily plans & impediments and help resolve any impediments. Actively participate in sprint retrospectives and provide ideas that will help increase the team’s velocity.
  • It is imperative for the entire team to raise any concerns, at the earliest, that may impact the committed timelines.
  • S/he should proactively engage with other engineers in the organization to get help with team impediments and provide help to them.
