Lead - General Merchandising (Plastics) is responsible for management and execution of business overseeing sales and margin delivery for Plastics categories driving category growth & profitability focusing on customer engagement through shopper-focused solutions across range, space management, pricing & promotions and build industry leading and profitable General Merchandising categories in Home & Living department in alignment with the 4 pillars of SPAR - Value, Freshness, Service and Choice across all SPAR Hypermarkets across the country and reports into Head - General Merchandising

Authority: This position is accountable for:

- Developing buying and merchandising strategy for the Plastics division with a view towards growing sales year on year in a profitable manner.

- Ensuring alignment of the GM category strategy with the organizational business strategy and ensure close coordination with operations and all other functions.

- Adherence to annual budget and financial performance for the GM categories across Hypermarkets and ownership of the P&L of the GM Categories

- Implementing Business Strategies and plans for the GM categories in Hypermarket Retail stores across the country and other Omni channels

- Drive the general merchandising categories under Private Label and increase SKUs and shares year on year.

- Deciding on Price Benchmarking of the GM categories, perform competition benchmarking and implement retail

Best Practices and commercial processes.

- Engaging and handling key stakeholders in the GM category across the regulatory spectrum, promoters and competition

- Constantly work towards incorporating SPAR and other global / industry best practices into the ways of working across the GM categories.

Responsibility: This position is primarily responsible for:

- Responsible for driving the GM categories to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, margin delivery and achievement of business goals.

- Overseeing and monitoring all operational responsibilities of the GM Categories and support GM category sales via Omni channels including Online Business

- Knowledge of sourcing from across the country & internationally - Measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external. Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the GM categories across the country.

- Working in collaboration with the Operations Head, Zonal Business heads & support functions to implement GM category strategy

- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, SOP's and human resources designed to accommodate objectives of the organization.

- Responsible for creating seamlessness across the GM categories including reporting across all metrics to the management

- Build and lead a culture of excellence across the GM categories in all processes.

Span: Lead GM categories across Plastics division

Graduate with MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in management.

- Previous experience in leading General Merchandise categories

- Preferred candidate from Retail/Food retail/FMCG having extensive experience in heading category sales, operations with at least 9 to 18 yrs of experience.
