Overview /Objective:

Our Analytics & Engineering Practice is seeking a QA & Test Automation Engineer with expertise in developing and executing automated test scripts, continuous integration, and quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in ETL testing, particularly within an AWS environment, ensuring the quality and reliability of our data platforms and services.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for various data pipelines, focusing on AWS data platforms.
  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams to define test requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Monitor and analyze automated test results, identify defects, and work with the engineering team to resolve issues.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated testing within the development lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance overall test automation efficiency.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and post-implementation reviews to identify areas for improvement and prevent recurring issues.
  • Interact with internal stakeholders, including engineering, data science, and business teams, to understand requirements and ensure alignment with quality standards.
  • Optimize through automation, eliminating manual, repetitive tasks by implementing sustainable, scalable solutions and processes.
  • Develop and execute tests using dbt to validate data transformations and ensure data integrity.


Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in ETL testing, with a focus on test automation and quality assurance.
  • Experience working with Cloud data platforms, preferably AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift).
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with SQL for database testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • A proactive, self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and improvement in the field of QA and test automation.


Mandatory Skill Sets


SQL, Python, Test Automation Frameworks, BDD Cucumber, Airflow, CI/CD tools, AWS-S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lambda


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in AWS or other relevant cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with behavior-driven development (BDD) and related frameworks like behave.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in agile development environments.
