The Sales HR Business Partner will work closely with sales leadership to ensure that HR practices, policies, and initiatives effectively support the sales team’s performance, engagement, and development. This individual will focus on recruitment, employee relations, talent management, performance optimization, and aligning HR solutions to meet the strategic objectives of the sales function in the sugar manufacturing industry.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic HR Support for Sales:

  • Partner with the Sales leadership team to understand the business goals and ensure that HR initiatives are aligned with the overall sales strategy.
  • Provide HR expertise to drive the sales team's effectiveness, helping them meet revenue targets, improve performance, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Design and manage the onboarding process for new sales hires to ensure seamless integration into the sales team.

Sales Team Performance Management:

  • Collaborate with sales managers to create clear performance goals and metrics for the sales team.
  • Support regular performance reviews, ensuring objectives are met and addressing areas for development through training, feedback, and coaching.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by aligning performance appraisals with the sales department’s targets and objectives.

Employee Engagement & Retention in Sales:

  • Work closely with sales leaders to develop engagement programs aimed at retaining top sales talent.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance morale, motivation, and overall job satisfaction across the sales team.
  • Proactively manage employee relations issues within the sales department, ensuring timely resolution to maintain a positive working environment.

Training & Development for Sales Teams:

  • Assess training needs for the sales team, focusing on enhancing product knowledge, selling techniques, negotiation skills, and leadership capabilities.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders to roll out training programs that improve the sales team's performance and contribute to business growth.
  • Support leadership development for high-potential sales employees to prepare them for future managerial roles.

Compensation & Incentives for Sales Teams:

  • Work closely with the HR and Sales teams to design competitive compensation packages, including commissions and incentives that motivate the sales force.
  • Provide guidance on structuring performance-based incentive plans that align with sales goals, ensuring they drive results without compromising profitability.

Data-Driven HR Strategy:

  • Utilize HR analytics to assess sales team performance, turnover, and engagement levels. Provide actionable insights to sales leadership to optimize team performance and address any challenges.
  • Regularly report on HR metrics specific to sales (e.g., sales team turnover, engagement, performance, etc.) and recommend data-driven solutions to support business outcomes.

Support for Sales Leadership:

  • Act as a trusted HR advisor to Sales leaders, offering guidance on leadership challenges, conflict resolution, and team dynamics.
  • Help sales managers with decision-making related to talent management, from promotions to corrective actions, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies.


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certifications preferred.
  • 15+ years of HR experience, with at least 8-10 years of experience in a sales-focused HR Business Partner role, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar industry.
  • Strong experience in working with sales teams to develop and execute talent management strategies that drive performance and growth.
  • Strong understanding of sales functions and the unique HR challenges that come with managing a sales workforce.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales-specific HR strategies that drive business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills to interact effectively with sales teams and leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of performance management, recruitment, and employee relations processes.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions and strategies in support of sales growth
