Purpose of the role :
Incumbent will be a part of our Supplier Development Engineering Team, developing Suppliers for Stamping, Micro fasteners, plastic parts, machined parts, Springs, die cut and other similar parts that are required for high volume production. Will work closely with suppliers to develop engineering capabilities improving their capability of producing high quality parts. Collaborate with Engineering by participating in development of parts and with manufacturing for introduction of parts into production environment.
Responsibilities
- Asses the current capabilities at existing suppliers or identify a new supplier who can meet drawing specification. Work with supplier to put a joint development roadmap to close the gaps, If any including the tier-1 suppliers who make the press tools and molds.
- Work in collaboration with SQE team to jointly conduct QMS and Technical Audits. Drive and implement all the improvement actions post assessments. Help supplier expand capacity and qualify them to scale up
- Work with supplier to improve their Engineering capability of product design and implement innovative ideas to enhance product quality and reduce cycle time. Develop large variety of parts used as part of Fixtures, equipments and SPM spares
- Work with supplier to scale up to TEPL's volumes yet ensuring the required quality.
- Work closely with suppliers to assess and develop Engineering capabilities improving their QCD for producing high quality parts. Ability to resolve quality issues through methodical RC/CA
- Assess and bring the new capabilities to meet the quality requirements of the product.
Qualification
Graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Any certification on Product development, 6 to 10 years’ experience.

Additional Requirements
- Experience in developing suppliers for machined parts, Stamping parts, Micro fasteners, plastic parts, Springs, rubber components, etc
- Exposure to surface finishing and special processes like Grinding, Anodizing, plating, Heat treatment, coatings, etc
- Manufacturing process awareness & sound knowledge in DFM
- Deep knowledge of development process and production ramp up
- Exposure to global procurement strategies & suppliers
- Strong knowledge in development and proving of parts
- Good interpersonal and Communication skills
