About the Role

NPI MPM is responsible for sourcing of newly designed products, setting up strategies for cost apportionment, supply continuity and sourcing decisions. Key activities include capturing pilot requirements, managing NPI RFQ and working directly with our operations and Strategic sourcing team to ensure materials, tooling and test fixtures meet the schedule and cost

Responsibilities

- Works closely with NPI Engineering in owning initiation/manage NPI RFQ processes for all BOM items to get lead time and cost estimation.- Works closely with Should costing team to identify base line cost.- Identify alternate manufacturing/cost reduction opportunities and have discussion with Engg/supplier to drive the cost down.- Manage cost apportionment of the complete BOM, drive cost reduction meetings including DCR opportunities.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Ops and Strategic sourcing) to define strategies to achieve cost targets (alternatives, supplier negotiations, design improvements etc.).- Execute to the Plan of Records strategy to finalize the ramp suppliers by co-ownership with NPI Engineering and Strategic sourcing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial) with minimum of 8+ years of experience into sourcing, program management and supplier management.

Job Specific skills/Knowledge :

Knowledge of manufacturing methods & commodities as related to product and cost structure.

Costing experience: needs to understand various cost models (E.g., Outsourced assembly/ module), mark-up, margins etc.

Have worked with cross functional team on New product / Design change projects.

Have worked with global suppliers.

Must be self-starter and be able to operate independent of day-to-day supervision.

Excellent people and presentation skills.

Proficient with MS Office. Knowledge of SAP MM Module.
