Category Head - Procurement
Purpose:
The Category Head is responsible for the full spectrum of purchasing process, for his assigned category including supplier selection and management, price negotiation.
Job Holder Requirements:
Number of years of experience: 10-15 years.
Type of companies/sectors worked for: Healthcare Companies.
Responsibilities managed in previous organization: Procurement process, contract negotiation, vendor management.
Language Proficiency: Read, write and speak fluently in English, Hindi.
Computer/Technical Skills (if any): MS Office, MS Excel.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships with manufacturers.
- Initiate & Develop White label products.
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous payment terms.
- Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers at Top Levels.
- Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
- Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs & improve bottom line.
- Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality & are supplied from verified source.

- Possess strong negotiation skills and have a good understanding of the product market.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community.
- Ability to lead the team.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Proactive and responsive to urgent needs of the various internal/ external customers.
- High level of integrity and dependability
