Title: Deputy Manager / Manager Department:Design Level:Middle Management Location:Gurugram Reporting to:Lead – Substation Design ROLE DESCRIPTION (POSITION SUMMARY) The incumbent of this role would be responsible to lead and manage all aspects ofPrimary Engineering Designfor substation and transmission projects, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with client and project requirements. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead theprimary engineering designfor high-voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (EHV) substations (e.g., 220kV, 400kV, 765kV). Prepare and review layouts, general arrangement (GA) drawings, equipment sizing, grounding and earthing, and cable routing. Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including protection, civil, and project management teams to ensure design integration. Review client technical specifications and ensure alignment with applicable standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, IS). Support procurement by preparing technical specifications for equipment and participating in technical bid evaluations. Liaise with clients, vendors, and stakeholders for design approvals and issue resolution. Maintaining a strong understanding of relevant standards, regulations and industry best practices. QUALIFICATION&EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant field. Master’s degree will be preferred. Minimum 9-12 Years of experience in substation design with strong understanding of primary equipment design – circuit breakers, transformers, isolators, CTs, PTs, surge arrestors.
