About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced GM Purchase / Purchase Head to lead our procurement and sourcing function across all jewelry product categories. The ideal candidate will be someone who has already worked in a senior capacity (GM / DGM Purchase) within the jewelry industry and has deep expertise in managing large-scale procurement operations.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will be responsible for building and executing robust procurement strategies, developing vendor relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely delivery without compromising on quality. You will also play a key role in aligning purchase decisions with overall business goals, managing supply chain efficiency, and supporting new product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the purchase and procurement function for all jewelry categories, including Gold, Silver (anklets, articles, jewelry), Diamond Jewelry, and Platinum Jewelry.

- Drive vendor identification, development, and management, ensuring access to the best suppliers across categories.

- Manage staff and cross-functional teams within the purchase department, ensuring high productivity, accountability, and adherence to company goals.

- Negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, favorable credit terms, and best-in-class quality standards.

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, hallmarking, certifications, and internal audit requirements.

- Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory planning, timely procurement, and smooth distribution across retail outlets and warehouses.

- Develop and execute strategies for bulk procurement while minimizing risks associated with cost fluctuations, availability, and vendor dependency.

- Maintain long-term vendor partnerships while ensuring competitive advantages in cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

- Stay updated with market trends in raw materials, gemstones, and jewelry categories to make proactive purchase decisions.

- Introduce automation, digital tools, and process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of proven experience in purchase & procurement within the jewelry industry.

- Should currently be working in a GM / DGM - Purchase role.

- Strong leadership skills in staff management, vendor development, and product sourcing.

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to balance cost optimization with quality and delivery requirements.

- Knowledge of hallmarking, certifications, and jewelry-specific compliance processes.

- Hands-on experience in supply chain management and inventory planning.

- Proficiency in handling bulk procurement and vendor relationship management.
