Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect with a focus on full-stack development to join our Retail Store Technology team. This senior role holds accountability for the solution architecture of business-transformative projects from inception through to implementation. As a Solutions Architect, you will be a part of a dynamic Architecture community with a focus on understanding and shaping the retail and payments domain. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, adept in full-stack technologies, and possess a strong background in retail and payment systems.


Main Responsibilities:

- Lead project-level solution design to ensure the architectural solution meets the needs and expectations of stakeholders.

- Advocate for and enforce Enterprise Architecture and Domain Architecture recommendations within project teams.

- Guarantee overall solution quality, including aspects such as security, performance, flexibility, and availability.

- Select appropriate technologies for the solution based on guidelines provided by Domain Architecture and Enterprise Architecture teams.

- Produce architectural deliverables such as non-functional requirements, system diagrams, data models, and a traceability matrix.

- Collaborate with Operations for infrastructure upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

- Provide leadership and mentorship to software engineers at all levels.

- Design scalable, reliable SaaS solutions and incorporate application monitoring features.

- Develop architecture models and justify proposed architectures and designs.

- Ensure architecture design aligns with business value and manage architecture models effectively.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Java, J2EE technology stack, and front-end technologies like React.js.

- At least 5 years of hands-on architectural experience.

- Proficiency in programming APIs, Java/JEE, Hibernate, Spring Framework, JSP, AJAX, JavaScript, XML, and SOAP/REST web services.

- Experience in data modeling and writing stored procedures.

- Valued experience in the retail and payment domain.

- Familiarity with third-party tool integration and cloud middleware platforms.


Desired Skills and Knowledge:

- Strong understanding of SaaS solution design and system design patterns and anti-patterns.

- Experience with full application development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies; waterfall, agile, and hybrid.

- Proficiency in using UML for building solution architecture models.

- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and listening skills.

- Effective interpersonal skills and leadership qualities, including collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation.


Tools and Technologies:

- Proficiency with Java, J2EE, React.js, Spring Framework, and other related full-stack development tools.

- Experience with RESTful Web Services and API development.

- Knowledge of system monitoring and performance tuning tools.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services.

- Proficiency in using modeling tools to create UML diagrams.
