As a PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) at Avasoft, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our PostgreSQL database systems. You will collaborate closely with our development, operations, and data analytics teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that support our business objectives.


Role & responsibilities


  • Administering large PostgreSQL databases ability to do performance tuning / index maintenance experience of backing up and restoring PostgreSQL database on a regular basis.
  • Designing and Managing PostgreSQL database schemas experience in Security access control experience with testing experience with configuration management experience with version control.
  • Monitoring databases to optimize database performance and diagnosing any issues
  • Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL database software and related components.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and caching strategies.
  • Implement and maintain database backup and recovery procedures to minimize data loss and downtime.
  • Strong Foundation in Design and Architecture

  • Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including system outages and performance degradation.
  • Monitor database performance to ensure high levels of security and speed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for database management and optimization.
  • Proven knowledge of SQL Servers, with experience in designing, implementing, and managing SQL databases.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex database issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Experience with database automation tools and techniques is a plus.
  • Should have strong understanding in NoSQL database at least in any one of the following database like Azure Cosmos, Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB.
