Job Title: Sales Engineer - Semiconductor Capital Equipment OEM

Position Overview:

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the sales process with a major semiconductor capital equipment OEM, utilizing collaborative selling techniques to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. This role requires an understanding of the semiconductor industry, particularly within the capital equipment sector, as well as the ability to navigate complex sales cycles and foster strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and meet targets.
  • Collaborate on sales and account strategy with other members of the global sales and marketing teams.
  • Understand the technical and commercial voice of the customer and advocate for the customer's needs, effectively communicating back to the organization.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the customer, understanding their technical roadmap and applications to provide value-added solutions.
  • Manage the sales process, from prospecting to closing, with a focus on building long-term relationships.
  • Meet assigned annual customer revenue targets, setting clear objectives and actionable plans to achieve revenue goals.
  • Conduct thorough customer and market research to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of technology and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product management, to deliver customized solutions.
  • Negotiate technical, and commercial aspects of the product offered, including performance specifications, hardware configurations, pricing and commercial terms and conditions).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of the semiconductor capital equipment industry, and associated technologies, and working knowledge of the broader semiconductor manufacturing industry, or similar highly technical hardware industries.
  • Proven track record of success in technical sales, preferably within the semiconductor capital equipment industry, or related sub-tier hardware product vendors.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to internal technical teams and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long and complex sales cycles, from initial contact to contract closure.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed to meet with customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Self-starting and highly organized with excellent time management skills to prioritize competing demands effectively.
  • A very strong sense of urgency, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to establish rapport at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong commitment to the enabling the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Familiar with the local market.
  • Must be growth result oriented where business development is a core focus.
