The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and fostering a relationship with our suppliers and vendors. You will also oversee the implementation of the supply and production strategies.


Responsibilities

SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION

Developing and implementing purchasing strategies, Managing daily purchasing activities, negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc. Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation. Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation. Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.


LEADERSHIP

Provides direction and support to the India Procurement Team in line with the Supply Chain strategy. Supports setting Procurement Teams goals. Jointly accountable with the facility Supply Chain manager for their performance and delivery.

Coaching of Procurement Team to increase organizational capabilities, improvements, promote efficiencies. Model good practice and ensure adherence to Southco’s Regional /global processes and systems.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Identification, initiation, and execution of key Supply Chain related projects in support of the regional supply chain strategy as set out by the Global Supply Chain director.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities that drive performance in total cost, quality and delivery performance. Support key Business Unit and new product design projects as requested.

Supports identification and qualification of new suppliers.


Cost Reduction Management

Identify direct and indirect saving opportunities in line with Global Supply Chain goals and Category Strategies. (Responsible for developing, tracking and delivering the Regional Savings Plan). Conducting procurement and contract negotiations (Medium - Large Scale)

Identify and execute on supplier rationalization opportunities.


Stakeholder / Relationship Management

Promote the Procurement function, activities and successes within the business.

Keep key stakeholders satisfied, understand needs, manage expectations and encourage feedback

Build strong relationships with the Supplier base, this should include site visits, Quarterly vendor meetings with key partners, Tech Days and Recognition.


Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering Graduate
  • 8 - 10 years' of purchasing experience
  • SAP Experience preferred
  • Internal Auditor in IATF
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strongly numerate and computer literate (particularly MS Excel, MS Power Point)
  • A clear and practical understanding of all purchasing activities like PR/PO releasing, GRN, Clearing of Invoices through accounts and good hold commercial knowledge and SAP, good negotiation skills
