Description : About the Role : We are looking for a highly skilled Network Security Engineer / Architect with expertise in L2/L3 network protocols and security technologies.The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network architectures, monitoring network performance, and ensuring robust protection against cyber threats.You will collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and operations teams to enhance network security posture and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities : - Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures for enterprise environments.- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, and load balancers to ensure network security and performance.- Monitor network traffic and performance using network monitoring and security tools.- Troubleshoot and resolve complex L2/L3 network issues, including routing, switching, and connectivity problems.- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.- Develop and enforce network security policies, procedures, and standards.- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and other security controls.- Evaluate and recommend network security solutions, tools, and technologies to enhance enterprise security.- Participate in capacity planning, network upgrades, and architecture reviews.- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.Technical Skills Required : - Strong expertise in network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, and load balancing.- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and security tools.- Deep understanding of L2/L3 protocols, TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and network segmentation.- Experience in network design, architecture, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.- Familiarity with IDS/IPS, SIEM, and threat detection solutions.- Knowledge of cloud networking and hybrid network security is a plus.- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) is desirable.Soft Skills : - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.- Proactive and detail-oriented in ensuring network security and operational reliability.Educational Qualification : - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.- Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, CCIE Security, CISSP, or equivalent are a plus.What We Offer : - Opportunity to work on enterprise-grade network security architecture.- Exposure to firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, routing, switching, and monitoring tools.- Collaborative and high-impact work environment with career growth opportunities.- Hands-on experience in network security design, implementation, and optimization (ref:hirist.tech)
