Job Summary :

The SQA Consultant IV Mobile Test Automation is a senior individual contributor role responsible for shaping and executing mobile automation testing strategies within Kaiser Permanentes Global Quality Services Framework. This role focuses on ensuring the delivery of high-quality mobile applications by developing test automation frameworks, designing test strategies, leading QA initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across development, business, and operations. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on expertise in test automation for Android and iOS platforms, proficiency in Java and mobile testing tools (Appium, Espresso, XCUI), and experience debugging with tools like Splunk or Dynatrace. The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, leadership in technical discussions, and the ability to thrive in Agile, fast-paced environments.

Essential Responsibilities :

- Guide the development of QA test strategies, methodologies, and frameworks for mobile automation testing.

- Complete work assignments and support business-specific projects by applying subject-matter expertise.

- Coordinate resources, enforce adherence to QA standards, and ensure timely project delivery.

- Collaborate cross-functionally to define testing scope, strategy, and approval processes.

- Ensure test plans, test cases, and timelines are aligned with program milestones.

- Lead the creation, execution, and automation of test cases across multiple phases (SIT, UAT, Performance, Production, Automation).

- Utilize tools like Java, Appium, Selenium, Espresso, and XCUI to implement automation solutions.

- Debug test failures using Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent tools; analyze logs and traces to identify root causes.

- Define and enforce entry and exit criteria per Kaiser testing standards.

- Work closely with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust test strategies.

- Generate execution reports, track quality metrics, and provide daily updates to IT and business stakeholders.

- Support Agile ceremonies and practices, driving continuous improvement in QA processes.

- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

Job Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- 6+ years in Software Quality Assurance / software testing.

- 2+ years of hands-on Appium mobile automation (preferred) or similar tools (e.g., Selenium).

- 1+ year in native UI test tools (Espresso, XCUI).

- 1+ year in device emulation & simulator tools (Perfecto, BrowserStack).

- 3+ years in test automation using Java.

- 3+ years with test management tools (QTest, QualityCenter).

- 3+ years with defect management tools (JIRA, Rally).

- 3+ years with API testing/debugging tools (Postman, etc.

- 1+ year in an informal lead role guiding technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience interacting with leadership (Manager level and above).

- 3+ years experience in large, matrixed organizations.

- 2+ years experience working with IT vendors.

- 3+ years working on projects involving the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

- 2+ years writing technical documentation in QA environments.

- 2+ years experience with integration technologies (Web services, MQ).

- 2+ years in virtual testing environments.

- 2+ years in healthcare testing environments.

- 2+ years testing business systems applications.

- 2+ years with data mart/data warehousing testing.

- Cloud experience preferred, with Azure as a strong plus.

- Masters degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (preferred).

- Quality certifications (QAI, ASQ, or similar) highly desirable
